OMT Pays International Money Transfers Sent to Lebanon in USD

In line with the Intermediate Circular 537, issued by BDL on December 30, 2019, and following the statement issued on January 7, 2020, by Western Union Accredited Agents in Lebanon, all international money transfers sent to Lebanon will be paid in USD starting January 15, 2020:

1- International money transfers sent to Lebanon will be paid in cash and in USD exclusively, without performing any currency exchange.
Upon transfer collection, if the agent does not have USD, you can contact OMT Call Center to guide you to the nearest OMT Agent with USD cash availability.

2- To implement the new process, OMT will obtain the necessary USD cash amounts by shipping them from abroad to secure the liquidity needed for the settlement of international money transfers.

3- If your money transfer is sent in LBP, please contact the Call Center to guide you to one of OMT standalones in order to collect your transfer in USD.

4- OMT hopes that receiving the money transfers sent to Lebanon exclusively in USD will contribute to the economic cycle and especially the commercial sector.
