OMT Celebrates Its Fifteenth Anniversary
On 25 January 2014, OMT celebrated its fifteenth anniversary at the Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand, in the presence of ministers, deputies, Western Union representatives, the media, in addition to more than 900 agents providing OMT services.
Throughout its 15 years, OMT delivered a bouquet of financial services, such as International money transfers through Western Union, Intra money transfer service, cash transfer to bank account, cash payments for businesses and companies, as well as cash payments to the Lebanese government.

TV figure Nada Andraos Aziz hosted the ceremony. Mr. Toufic Moawad, CEO of OMT, delivered a speech thanking Western Union Company on its constant support, the Central Bank for providing the money transfer sector with advanced electronic systems, and the Ministry of Finance who granted OMT permission to collect all its taxes and fees, especially the mechanic fees, and the Ministry of Telecommunications for allowing OMT to collect landline bills and cell phone bills.
He also thanked the banks, companies and institutions who trusted OMT to collect their monthly dues from their customers, adding that OMT will soon announce several new services in the public sector, which increases the company’s contribution to strengthening the foundations of an “Electronic Government.”
A documentary entitled "The Agent’s Journey with OMT" was shown, and the audience listened to the speech of Mr. Hekmat Ersek, President and CEO of Western Union International.
The ceremony honored 900 OMT agents for their good performance and the company chose this year to reward 15 agents for meeting the specific professional criteria. The evening ended with laughs as the guests enjoyed the funny “Ma Fi Metlo” stage play.
